ew Vintage, Same Bordeaux Blanc, Still Under $15
Every spring, without fail, we order in a fresh load of this bright, refreshing white Bordeaux. And every year, as the sun starts to warm things up, you all gobble it up. It has become one of those CorksCru staples — a unique, affordable, and endlessly drinkable wine, made by people who care — that you've come to know and love. There's not much to say about it that we haven't already said. And honestly? That's the point.
I was looking back at the email I sent you around this time last year, and I was struck by how familiar it all felt. A year has passed — a new year of headlines, disruptions, markets lurching, the usual rollercoaster — and yet here we are, in much the same place. Which is to say: still here, still importing wine, still with the conviction that it matters. Our mission hasn't changed: Find great, unique, and affordable wine made by dedicated family farmers. Build real relationships with the people who make it and the people who drink it. And deliver it to you at a price you can actually drink on a Tuesday.
That mission is a sure thing — even when the world around it isn't. And while tariffs and oil shocks shift the equation to a degree, we're wine importers, so importing wine is what we're going to keep doing.
Which is why this spring, just like last spring, a fresh allocation of Claouset Bordeaux Blanc is among the first whites we order in from the new vintage. Cracking one open and drinking it cold in the fresh air of spring continues to be an anticipated moment around here — and judging by how fast our allocation disappears each year, we suspect it is for you too.
Château du Claouset
Bordeaux Blanc Sec 2025
We’ve said it before, white Bordeaux is minefield. There’s an ocean of bland, watered-down plonk, or conversely you’re faced with triple–digit prices for a “name brand” chateau. But Chateau du Claouset hits that sweet spot—distinctive and compelling, but won’t upset your budget.
60% Sauvignon Blanc & Gris , 35% Sémillon, 5% Muscadelle
Organically farmed grapes
Made entirely in stainless steel to preserve the gorgeous green-gold color and fresh aromas
Citrus blossom, and a whiff of salt air on the nose, with lemon, pineapple, white fruits and finishes with honeyed intensity
This one is perfect when chilled down and served cold. Keep one always at the ready to enjoy with a salad, summer vegetables on the grill, or as a delicious aperitif while preparing the meal.
