Our Secret Weapon: Monte Branco in Stock

If you've been reading our missives for a while, you don’t need to read the rest of this email — you already know these wines front to back, and you’re probably ready for a restock. And if you're new, read on. You’re about to become an insider.

Monte Branco Alento

Tinto, Branco & Rosé

This trio of wines have been our most popular offering year after year since we first stumbled down that gravel road in Portugal way back in 2018. If you've ordered them before, you know exactly why — ridiculously tasty wine, at a stunningly good price. If you haven’t yet tried these, this is an easy decision - you’re about to discover your new favorite House Wine.

When we first offered these back in 2018, there wasn’t a lot of Portugese wines in the country, certainly not from the Alentajo. It’s still an under appreciated region. Back then, they rang up around $12.50… and despite inflation, tariffs, a pandemic, and everything else the world has thrown in our way, they've crept all the way up to…$17 - and if you buy it by the case, and its still only $15! That's the Alentejo magic, specifically the Monte Branco magic.

What are they like? Well, the red is warm and generous, full of dark fruit with that signature eucalyptus note, and ready to open anytime. The white is fresh and mineral-driven, belying its sunny southern Portugal origins. The rosé is bright, juicy, and drinks like summertime by the beach.

So if you know, you know. Stock up. If you're just now hearing about these, trust me — grab some while they last. We won’t be getting more in stock until this fall, so consider this your chance for the time being. These wines are here, ready to go, no waiting. And at $17 a bottle, $16 on the 6-pack or $15 by the case, mix and match, there's absolutely no reason not to.

Monte Branco Alento Tinto 2022

Warm, rich, mouth-filling red. Old-vine blend of Alicante, Trincadeira, Tinto Roriz, and Touriga Nacional. Dark fruit, spice, eucalyptus. The kind of wine that makes everything taste better.

Monte Branco Alento Branco 2024

Mineral-laden, fresh, and serious for the price. Drinks like a cool-climate white from somewhere far more expensive. Perfect proof that Portugal still has it figured out.

Monte Branco Alento Rosé 2024

Bright, juicy berry fruit with a clean, dry finish. Ultra-versatile. The rosé you keep around year-round because why wouldn't you?
